Hasami ware is a type of ceramic ware fired in Hasami Town, Higashisonogi District, Nagasaki Prefecture. Due to the location of its shipping, it was also called Imari ware during the Edo period and Arita ware in the Meiji period. Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, borders Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, and Hasami ware, like Arita ware, has a tradition spanning over 400 years.
The countless tiny pores in the ceramic absorb moisture just enough to prevent drying and odor, keeping rice fluffy.
The heat-resistant ceramic allows you to store it in the refrigerator and then simply pop it in the microwave for a freshly cooked flavor.
The flat lid makes it easy to store in the refrigerator or cupboard.
