This fan is bright red on both sides and exudes the elegance of the Edo period.
The overall length including the handle is approximately 40cm, and the base paper measures a maximum of 28cm in height and 26cm in width. This fan is slightly larger than the regular size. You can feel the breeze when you fan yourself.
The frame is made of bamboo, the base paper has bamboo mesh inside, and the surface of the washi paper is coated with persimmon tannins (hence the name "shibu uchiwa").
It can be used at home as well as outdoors at festivals, Bon Odori dances, etc. It also makes a stylish room decoration or display.
