This is a 1/87 scale HO scale plastic assembly kit of the BR41 steam locomotive, which was active in Germany during and after the war.
The finished length including the tender is 27.5cm.
The powerful form unique to the 1-D-1, with its eight driving wheels, has been meticulously recreated.
The kit includes approximately 130 parts.
The chassis faithfully recreates the unique mechanisms of a steam locomotive, including the frame, wheels, and connecting rods.
The boiler mounted on top of it is also realistically reproduced with sculpted details, such as piping on its surface.
The driver's seat is also meticulously modeled.
The interior, with its numerous instruments, handles, and other parts, is reproduced in meticulous detail.
There is plenty of room for experimentation with different paint jobs and weathering.
The walls and top of the driver's seat are also detailed with bolts and other details that add to the realism.
The tender coupled to the rear also realistically recreates the chassis mechanism, as well as the coal it is loaded with.
The finished product has a sense of weight to it.
In addition, this kit also includes track for display.
