This cam engages with the ratchet side one step at a time. There is little resistance when pulling the lever, making it easy to pull. There is resistance when returning, which stops the lever and positions the derailleur. (Note) Make sure the oval projection on the back of the black plastic washer is securely inserted into the oval hole on the shifter before tightening the crown screw. If the plastic washer is left loose when tightening, the projection will be damaged and the shifter will no longer be secured. Cannot be used with SRAM products.
