The Atago was commissioned in 2008 as the JMSDF's second-generation Aegis destroyer, following the Kongo-class Aegis destroyers, and is still in active service today.
This kit includes new parts, such as radar and satellite antennas, which were installed after the actual ship's upgrade, allowing you to recreate its latest appearance.
