In the early 1980s, Brian Eno invented the "Shimmer" effect, popularized by use on tracks such as U2's "Unforgettable Fire" (1984), which mixed ambient reverb with an octave effect on the reverb decay. The 3 Series Octave Reverb puts a JHS spin on this classic effect that's been around for decades, allowing you to create pads, textures and fill ambient spaces with your guitar. Switching the toggle switch to the up position produces an upper octave sound, while switching it to the down position produces a low octave sound.
