"Scarlet Devil Castle Remilia II: Phantom Requiem" is the sequel to "Scarlet Devil Castle Remilia: Scarlet Symphony," a side-scrolling action game featuring characters from the globally popular "Touhou Project." The protagonist of this work is Sakuya Izayoi, a maid at the Scarlet Devil Mansion. In order to search for the missing Remiria and the other residents of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and for the whereabouts of the spring that never comes, she enters the supposedly vanished Scarlet Devil Castle... the Demonic Scarlet Devil Castle. Defeating the enemies that attack her, she progresses through the stages and faces familiar bosses from the Touhou Project who await at the back of each stage. After dodging beautiful barrages of bullet attacks, Remiria finally arrives... Sakuya Izayoi specializes in close-range knife attacks. In addition to "Flight," which allows her to move freely through the air for a set period of time, she can also use the new "Backstep" action in this game to avoid enemy attacks while fighting. Special attacks such as "Soul Sculpture," "Flying Kick," and "Backstep Knife" have also been added, allowing for even more stylish play. In this game, you can equip up to three subweapons/partners before selecting a stage. Subweapons include the "throwing knife" familiar to Izayoi Sakuya and the "pocket watch" that stops time. Partners can also summon Touhou characters that appear in the game and attack enemies with their respective skills. Choose the right timing to summon subweapons and partners to gain an advantage in battle. In this work, Sakuya Izayoi heads to the "Yophany Scarlet Devil Castle" in search of Remiria and the residents of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, who have suddenly disappeared.
