While JIS standard L3102 has been abolished, HOBI Canvas maintains high performance by maintaining strict standards for thread composition, density, and weight. This durable, thick, and sturdy canvas, used since the Edo period for military tents, emergency stretchers, judo uniforms, and more, is made from 100% cotton and is extremely tear-resistant and environmentally friendly. Despite its light weight, it can be used ruggedly, even when wrapped around a pile of firewood and lifted. A special paraffin (wax-soaked) treatment provides excellent water repellency, and the sheet develops a vintage look with age.
