This riser card supports only solid-state drives with the PCIEX4 transmission protocol on the M.2 NGFF interface (solid-state drives have only one gap) and solid-state drives with the PCIEX2 transfer protocol. M.2 NGFF SSDs with the PCIE X4 transmission protocol are divided into two types: AHCI protocol and NVMe protocol. Note that Windows 7 cannot recognize solid-state drives with the NVMe protocol. Note that this adapter is a U.2 port and will not work with SATA or USB. SFF-8639 NVMe U.2 to NGFF M.2 M Key PCIe SSD Adapter, replaces Intel SSD 750 p3600 p3700 for motherboard. This converter allows connection of M.2 NGFF SSDs in 2280, 2260, 2242, and 2230 formats. An M-key or NVMe SSD is required, but B-key or B/M-key SSDs will not work.
