This swamp-infused Tom Pacheco solo masterpiece, from Pacheco & Alexander, is now available on CD in a paperback jacket. Currently based in Woodstock and actively working with members of The Band, Pacheco continues to sing to the American heart with his narrative songwriting. After a stint with the '60s shy-shine pop group Euphoria and later Pacheco & Alexander, Pacheco's second album since moving to RCA, "The Outsider," follows his previous album, "Swallowed Up in the Great American Heartland" (1976), and is now available on CD for the first time. While his previous album had a laid-back feel typical of the West Coast, this album, produced by Thomas Jefferson Kaye, delivers a more Southern sound and significantly more powerful vocals. Backing vocals include Daniel Moore, who, alongside Kaye, John Hartford, and Doug Dillard, became a fixture of the LA swamp scene around the '70s.
