Product Description
The "Definition Armor" concept, which aimed to miniaturize the successful Bulkarm α, a humanoid bipedal heavy Hexa Gear, extracted and simplified elements of the renowned Scarecrow, a masterpiece light Hexa Gear, and reconstructed it into a form wearable by the pilot, was a fusion of the two successful models, and was expected to be a powerful, lightweight, and highly maneuverable infantry exoskeleton. However, the advanced prototype deployed in combat trials was overloaded with elements that were completely unbalanced, earning it the dishonorable reputation of being a "latest walking coffin." Aiming for practical application while maintaining its only acclaimed feature, mass production, various modification plans were considered based on narrowed specifications. The plan that made it into production was the Woodpecker, which prioritized high-speed, maneuverable combat by leveraging its lightweight design, and the Blazebore, which resulted purely in the original goal of downsizing the bulkarm.
While the core components of the Blazebore are largely the same as those of the Woodpecker, developed at the same time, this unit's sensors in the upper center of the fuselage provide a wide field of view to the left and right, partly to compensate for its reduced mobility. The walking legs also serve as protection for the governor's lower body, and the working limbs themselves are equipped with side armor that allows for the operation of heavy weaponry. The thrusters are smaller and less powerful than those of the Woodpecker, designed to reduce the load on the unit and allow it to work in tandem with infantry. The control system is master-slave, with assistance from the G2AI, which uses feedback from the BMI installed in the Warmage, which is standard equipment on the pilot's governor, to ensure reliable unit and fire control.
Thus, the Blazebore was born, a realistic revision of the specifications originally aimed for by Definition Armor. Its unique characteristics are apparent in its ability to work more closely with infantry units, providing fire support by carrying heavy weaponry in narrow terrain such as valleys and urban streets that are inaccessible to larger Hexa Gears, and acting as a shield in front of the infantry in mopping-up operations.
As its name suggests, the image of the unit, never stopping its march with its red-hot shield in hand, is seared into the memories of many soldiers, earning it a trust several times greater than it lost.
