Following a request for development and official adoption by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Luminox began supplying watches to military, police, fire departments, rescue, and other public organizations around the world. In 2018, Luminox partnered with the Icelandic Search and Rescue Team (ICE-SAR), a rescue team in Iceland, developing models specifically tailored for rescue missions. Due to frequent natural disasters such as avalanches, the Icelandic Search and Rescue Team (ICE-SAR) was established as a volunteer organization to rescue lives. ICE-SAR is a highly skilled rescue team that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition to rescue operations, they are also involved in a wide range of other fields, including safety education. Since partnering with ICE-SAR, Luminox has developed timepieces specifically tailored for search and rescue missions, designed to operate in harsh environments and provide excellent legibility even in poor visibility conditions such as blizzards. Supporting ICE-SAR's search and rescue missions, the ICE-SAR ARCTIC 1050 SERIES is now available with new functionality. The ICE-SAR ARCTIC 1050 SERIES features a built-in pulse monitor. The long second hand eliminates the 60-second wait for pulse readings, and the indices on the inner dial ring allow for quick pulse readings, a key element in lifesaving. The case and bezel are made of lightweight yet durable CARBONOX™, and the watch boasts shock resistance and 200m water resistance, making it suitable for rescue missions in harsh environments. The LLT, designed for visibility in the dark, features a green and orange combination for high visibility on land, while the indices and the "6" and "12" markers are infused with Super-LumiNova for even greater visibility in the dark.
