Universe 0001—. A new era has begun, as space migration begins. A terrorist bombing shattered the space station Laplace, the official residence of the Earth Federation government's prime minister, during a ceremony marking the transition from the Gregorian era to the Universal Century (U.C.). A young man named Syam, who joined the terrorist attack out of poverty, was caught up in the Laplace's explosion and discovered something among the wreckage: a forbidden box that would later be known as Laplace's Box. U.C. 0096. Three years after Char's Rebellion, the world, still in the throes of war following the One Year War, appeared to be returning to peace on the surface. One day, Banagher Links, a boy living in the industrial space colony Industrial 7, meets a mysterious girl named Audrey Byrne. She has taken action alone to stop a deal for Laplace's Box between the Vist Foundation and the Neo Zeon remnant, the Sleeves. Banagher cooperates with her. However, the colony turns into a battlefield as the Earth Federation Forces, who have also invaded to disrupt the deal, engage in combat with the Sleeves. As Banagher races through the fighting in search of Audrey, he has a fateful encounter with the Unicorn Gundam, a pure white mobile suit that holds the key to Laplace's Box.
