[Explanation of Hanten (general purpose)]
"Kurume cotton-padded hanten" has become a local industry in Kurume, along with the textile production area.
It is said that this began in the 1950s when wholesalers in Kurume commissioned weavers to produce the fabric.
The secret to its warmth lies in the special cotton filling made by a long-established futon manufacturer, which is blended with plenty of cotton.
It offers excellent heat retention and moisture absorption, instantly absorbing body heat when you put it on, bringing you closer to your body's highest temperature.
Another characteristic is that it becomes fluffy again when dried in the sun, and the hanten made from a single piece of cotton is supple and comfortable to wear, conforming to the skin.
[Acrylic/Polyester (outer fabric)]
Outer fabric material: The warp threads are made of double-ply acrylic yarn, and the weft threads are made of long-staple polyester fibers. Double-ply yarn is supple and has a lustrous quality, while long-staple polyester fibers prevent pilling and fuzzing, and are resistant to tearing.
Furthermore, acrylic has excellent colorfastness, making colors and patterns stand out. It does not fade even after being dried in the sun many times, and has excellent colorfastness (indicating the degree of dyeing).
This material has a long history, having been the most widely produced material for "Kurume Hanten" (a type of traditional Japanese jacket).
[Velveteen]
The collar is made of velveteen, a velvet fabric woven from 100% cotton.
It has fine, standing fibers and a smooth texture. Also known as velour, it is a high-quality material that requires considerable effort to produce.
The neckline feels more comfortable, and the fabric prevents it from sticking to the skin, thus preventing dirt and stickiness.
This is also one of the reasons why it has been loved for so long.
