The motifs in this book are characterized by forming a pattern only once four or more motifs are joined together. Though based on basic stitching techniques, changing the color scheme and color placement dramatically alters the pattern that emerges once the pieces are connected. The book features 30 of Sakai's signature motif designs—including florals, checks, and geometric patterns—along with 8 small projects. For each motif, 2 to 3 color scheme examples or arrangement variations are shown with sample images. Including color variations, this single book offers more than 110 patterns to enjoy. It can also be used as a swatch book of color combinations to see lovely pairings. All yarns used are from Hamanaka. Includes photo instructions on how to join the motifs so the pattern connects beautifully.
