[Each watch is carefully handcrafted] Each watch is meticulously made by hand by a woodworker, using wood that has no two pieces with the same grain. The resulting watch will have a unique character, a watch made just for you. Because a watch is an item that accompanies you throughout your life, we want to be particular about each and every customer who holds one in their hands. With that dedication and passion in mind, we continue to make watches in our small factory in Gujo Hachiman every day.
[Product Description] The "Magewappa" (bentwood lunchbox) made by Kato Woodworking is formed by gluing two sheets of plywood together in a circular shape. This rare technique, which is disappearing in Japan, was deliberately revived and production began in November 2008. When viewed from the front, the frame shows a layered appearance, and the outside reveals the beautiful, understated grain of basswood.

KATOMOKU's "plywood wall clock". Kato Woodworking Co., Ltd. handcrafts each and every item. Our bentwood boxes are made from plywood manufactured by Sapporo Tsuru Veneer Co., Ltd. in Hokkaido, which we then process into bentwood boxes. For details on the processing procedure, please see "http://www.katomoku.jp/mage-wappa.html". As the only clock manufacturer in Japan that processes the materials for its plywood wall clock frames in Japan, we will continue to strive for excellence. With the hope that you will use it for as long as possible, we use an analog type movement that is less prone to malfunction. Also, because it is a sweep type, it makes almost no noise.
