This long-selling product has received the 1996 Good Design Award and the 2021 Long Life Design Award. It is a handmade vessel carefully carved one by one by artisans in Odawara, using Japanese keyaki wood dried for approximately six months from the natural forests of Japan. The cutting tools used in the carving process are also handmade by the artisans, and no compromises are made – every product contains the heart of its creator. The coating uses safe urethane coating, the same as used for school lunch bowls in Odawara. You can enjoy the unique texture of each piece, as it is finished to preserve the natural wood grain. This generously sized vessel enhances the appearance of dishes and is also suitable for Western cuisine. Its large, donburi-sized dimensions make it ideal for dishes like tekka-don, mapo tofu, or udon noodles.
